With the successful completion of a commercial building expansion for this customer two years ago, the owners requested that we team up with them again on this new venture. We recently completed work on this new Shigs in Pit restaurant on Maplecrest Rd. in Ft. Wayne. The restaurant is quickly becoming a very popular destination for customers who have made the downtown location a success and for those enticed to try something new as well. With architectural services provided by Kelty Tappy Design, Inc., this 5,200 sq. ft. building is designed to feature an extremely convenient carry out area as well as a dining room with large sit-down bar. The atmosphere is rustic/industrial with exposed structural components, polished concrete floors and metal siding. The rustic style carries through to the exterior and the site offers plenty of well lit parking for easy and safe navigation. A patio provides space for outdoor dining on those warm summer nights. The [...]
This home was our third new construction project on the Barbee Lake chain in Kosciusko County. The craftsman style home offers 3 bedrooms and 2 baths in it's 1,964 square feet of living space. There is an unattached two-car garage situated on this lakeside home site. As is the case with many shoreline properties, the soil conditions were such that pilings were required be driven as support for the foundation. Truss rafters were used to accommodate the wide open floor plan which incorporates the great room, kitchen and nook, all in one large area. A corner gas, direct-vent fireplace is visible from anywhere in this large room. A huge island in the kitchen allows plenty of space for guests in what is a common gathering spot for parties in most homes. With vinyl lap and shingle siding, as well as manufactured stone, this cottage is practically maintenance free, which demands less time for work and more time for playing on the lake. A large [...]
This expansion and remodeling project was recently completed on beautiful Clear Lake. Being a registered architect, the owner designed the home to be expanded with a new great room, rec. room, 3-seasons porch and lake toy storage. A new enlarged custom kitchen as well as new and expanded wood exterior decks were also part of the project. The existing roof was replaced and the home now is protected with new vinyl shake siding complimented with natural thin-veneer stone. A new wood-burning fireplace in the great room and one in the new 3-seasons porch were added as well. The home's main entry is relocated to a new covered porch on the street side and a new unattached two-car garage has been constructed on the property as well. With the extensive landscaping, this transformation has been nothing short of spectacular. We continue to receive many compliments on this refreshed and expanded home.

The sun room is open is to the kitchen, dining area and great room and creates an expansive open area with views of the lake from everywhere. The garage is an over-sized 3-car, with one bay deep enough to allow for boat storage. This home is built on a piling supported foundation [...]
