Narrow building sites - common in lake settings - can be present challenges while designing a new home that complies with setback ordinances, yet delivers the wants and needs an owner may have for their vacation home. This home on Clear Lake is a very good example of how those challenges can be overcome. Boasting over 3,000 sq. ft. of living area, this home provides ample sleeping areas with five over-sized bedrooms. With the capability of accommodating so many guests, bath room facilities are important and this need is met with five full baths. Designed as a year-round residence, this lake home offers plenty of room for guests that can be expected when your home is situated next to a natural recreational amenity. Located on Irish Lake in Kosciusko County, the home has 2,523 sq. ft. of living area on two levels with three large bedrooms and two and one half baths. Designed specifically for this severely sloping lot by Lynn, this home features exterior decks overlooking the lake that will be accessible from each level and a lake-toy storage room that is very conveniently located at lake level.

This home is situated on a gorgeous estate sized home site with a large semi-private lake. The single-story residence featured here, has 3,269 sq. ft. of living area with an additional 3,836 sq. ft. of finished area in the walk-out basement. Using elements from homes previously built by our company, Lynn used some of the design features from those homes along with the owner's ideas to create this one-of-a-kind design.  Just one example of the customization apparent in this home is a theater room and exercise room located under the four car garage, which was made possible by the existing topography of the building site. Designed by Lynn, this cottage on the south shore of Clear Lake was designed specifically to fit on the site formally occupied by the owner's aging home . With four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths, this cottage is deceptively spacious and offers two large open areas for entertaining. Though the lot was somewhat narrow, we were able to include an attached one car garage for the owner's convenience. The bayed nook and elevated deck offer spectacular views of Kasota Island and the lake beyond.

Most would agree that it is somewhat unusual to use adjectives such as beautiful or gorgeous while describing a stand-alone garage. We do feel however, that the use of those words is appropriate in the description of this garage on Clear Lake. Lynn, with much input from the owner, designed this building to meet the very stringent guidelines specified in the town's ordinances. Complying with the setback standards influenced the design in a manner that created a longer and less square garage than is typical for most lake accessory buildings. The height restrictions as well, created a design challenge in allowing for maximum additional storage options on the 2nd level.
